Aluminium or plastic: which material suits you?
Both materials have pros and cons. We explain the choice based on budget, appearance and maintenance.

Aluminium and plastic are the two most popular materials for veranda frames. Which suits you? It depends on three things: budget, desired appearance and how much maintenance you accept. Aluminium is sleek, modern and strong. Profiles can be thinner than plastic, giving you more glass and daylight. The frame does not rust and requires no painting. Available in virtually any RAL colour. Higher purchase price but lower lifetime cost. Plastic feels warmer than metal and matches classic facades better. Profiles are thicker, so slightly less minimal. Advantage: 20 to 30 percent cheaper at comparable sizes, and the material is naturally insulating. Our advice: choose aluminium for a modern look and large spans. Choose plastic if budget is the deciding factor or your home is classic in style.
